Warm Italy
I was born in warm Italy (although it was the middle of winter). Where I absorbed and developed my senses, quite literally. My strongest childhood memories are painted with colourful citrus fruits, the best gelato ever (really), inundating basil notes, but also millennial history, exemplary architecture, naturally perfect landscapes, warm salty water and never-ending sunshine.
Shortly after high school, I realised that doing an Erasmus exchange would have been my launching platform to better english, international friendships and mind-opening experiences, all with lots of travel around Europe. Yes, it represents the key that turned me, young Italian boy, into a European adult hungry for more of this world.
pack n' go
I studied at the Polytechnic University of Milan and earned a Master's in Brand Communication (designing, building, and managing brands). I loved the strategic side – the storytelling, the positioning, the clarity – but after a few professional experiences, I felt something missing. I needed a break from forming my professional self, and to work on myself, so I started backpacking across South America. I still remember the feeling of insignificance in that majestic nature, while at the same time feeling my shoulders growing, becoming wider, and my ideas clearer.
My Beloved ABbC
I couldn't go back home anymore, "abroad" was my new home. But where, exactly? I drafted a few ideas, pros and cons, and suddenly I had shortlisted on my unmissable Moleskin the final 4 cities that were inspiring, intriguing and calling me the most: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, and Copenhagen. And without realizing it, I ended up threading my life through all four of those amazing cities.
From lots of long weekends cycling and wandering in Amsterdam; to winter-escapes in the warm and colourful Barcelona; until getting married to my beloved inspiring wife in one of the best designed cities I've ever experienced – Copenhagen.
Berlin, Du weißt ich liebe dich so viel
Berlin didn't welcome me with white gloves or shortcuts. It welcomed me with reality. Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg, Neukölln – full of memories, fun, learnings, drama, growth, friends and joy. Berlin welcomed me as a young adult and led me to the next life chapter as a better designer, and eventually as the Father of a true Berliner.
And Now? Oh Canada…
Now, I say Bonjour Montréal, Alicia's birthplace, my very much beloved and inspiring wife, and my newest chapter. There is lots to adjust to, learn (i.e. de-rusting my 5th language, French), discover, explore, and enjoy. My feedback? It's too early for a definitive opinion but I already know this: I can breathe here and I have all the nature I need to enjoy and feel happy.
Weekends are alive with outdoor sports from snowboarding to cross-country skiing to mountain biking and kitesurfing. And when I need a slower tempo, you'll find me snowshoeing with a camera.
Design as a Fil-Rouge
Design is my fil-rouge: it's the outstanding architecture I've observed that helps me create scalable systems and uncomplicated platforms; it's the nuances of colours and opinions that taught me the power of human perception and how to guide users through my apps; it's the nature I've immersed in during my travels that gives me a special perspective and sense of aesthetics.
I've spent the last 10+ years working across UX/UI, product strategy, content, and brand – because great products aren't just usable. They're coherent. They're engaging. They're solving real life problems. They earn trust. They move the business forward without disrespecting the people using them.
That's why what I'm most drawn to is simple: making complex things feel easy. High craft, no friction. Systems that scale. Proof over opinions. And a team environment where we ship great work without losing our humanity, lightness, and fun doing it.
If any of that sounds like the kind of designer you want in the room, I'd love to talk.
thanks for being here
